Martin Krygier: a ‘Rule of Law guy’

RegNet at the Australian National University, Canberra, in February hosted a webinar entitled A passion for the rule of law: In conversation with Martin Krygier.

Commentary about the event remarked:

Martin Krygier is one of the world’s foremost thinkers and communicators on the rule of law today. His writing and speaking on it has inspired and motivated scholars working on the topic from Australia to Europe and the Americas. In 2019, 36 of those scholars penned essays in honour of Krygier, published as a special issue of the Hague Journal on the Rule of Law (11.2-3).

The even brought Krygier together with four of the essay contributors to discuss how and why he became a ‘rule-of-law guy’, and why he is still so passionate when it comes to the ideal of the rule of law (watch the webinar).

Since then he was the keynote speaker at a webinar sponsored by the Riga Graduate School of Law, Latvia, and SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Warsaw, Poland, entitled The ideal rule of law and why it matters (watch the webinar), and was also interviewed by students from the Riga Graduate School of Law (watch the podcast).
